DSOs & Dental Practices that want increased overall performance
Design a database schema for users containing sensitive patient information while adhering to HIPAA standards
We reached out to several dental practices who are part of the sikka.ai userbase that are seeking to make effective use of Optimizer™ to discuss the prevalent problems and needs in greater detail with the use of SurveyMonkey:
In conjunction with UserMonkey surveys, the common pain point findings are as follows:
Below are some of our common users that utilize Optimizer™ Enterprise on a daily basis, with varying intents and purposes for their unique situations.
With the users of Optimizer™ Enterprise in mind, complying with HIPAA and local and state government standards along with de-identifying sensitive information, we can condense the action items as follows:
As dentists and dental service organizations want a centralized approach to review reports, gauge insights and determine procedure plans, the product is tailored to obtaining the necessary information contained within a dashboard with emphasis on the top navigation bar providing access to specific sections within the software.
Per HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliance, we ensured that no patient information has been used but at the same time we have to set up a dedicated API callback that exclusively contains dummy data. To have this situation resolved, I consulted the data science and engineering teams to see if the current data of patients can be copied, de-identified as their own group, and have that be used for our prototypes. Next steps involve more design iterations to solve the issues discovered during user testing. We also plan to conduct additional A/B testing for certain screens, such as the map and revenue analysis interactions.
The state of interaction design in the dental healthcare industry is improving, but still has a lot of room for improvement. It’s exciting to help design options that engage users and optimize businesses, ultimately helping them gain new patients and ensuring retention while having the ease of gaining insights from reports provided by Optimizer™ Enterprise.
The user testing validated many of the decisions we made around what information to present and informed some visual tweaks. Users of Optimizer™ Enterprise including Independence Dental services provided positive feedback with increase in production growth and ROI:
Over the past six challenging weeks on this project, I've been a part of an extensive project aimed at transforming Optimizer™ Enterprise for dental practices, and the journey has been enlightening. Our progress was marked by numerous discussions and back-and-forths with executives as we grappled with differing viewpoints on priorities. Despite the challenges, we adhered to our KPIs and maintained our focus on enhancing user experience and system performance. This project has undeniably been one of the most demanding endeavors I've undertaken, but it reaffirms the importance of resilience, collaboration, and unwavering dedication to delivering a product that truly serves our users' needs.
